Reana Garcia Law Group

Reana Garcia, Esq. began Reana Garcia Law Group in October 2023 as a way of bringing her passion for immigration and expertise in criminal defense to her community.

Prior to beginning this firm, Ms. Garcia practiced immigration law at several of the best immigration firms in the State of New Jersey. Ms. Garcia represented an array of clients before the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR), the Office of USCIS, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and the Federal District Court of the Second and the Third Circuit. Utilizing her expertise in litigation, she has successfully represented clients before the Immigration Court in bond proceedings, asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, and other types of relief. She has also represented clients before the Office of USCIS for marriage, adjustment of status, and naturalization interviews. Ms. Garcia has learned immigration from both a defensive and affirmative posture, to bring her clients the best representation possible.

​Ms. Garcia became an expert in litigation as a former Assistant Prosecutor for the County of Union. While a Prosecutor, Ms. Garcia worked in the Juvenile Unit, on the Trial Team, and in the Appellate Division. As an Assistant Prosecutor for the Juvenile Unit and the Trial Team, Ms. Garcia handled a variety of criminal cases from disorderly persons offenses to felony charges. Through her expertise, Ms. Garcia perfected her litigation skills including brief writing and motion practice, as well as representing the State in criminal trials. In addition, Ms. Garcia has ample experience in taking pleas and plea negotiations.

​Prior to becoming an Assistant Prosecutor, Ms. Garcia was a law clerk to the Honorable William A. Daniel, Judge of the Superior Court, Union County: Criminal Division. As a law clerk, Ms. Garcia researched criminal law and wrote legal memorandums to help the Judge in his decisions. Moreover, through her clerkship Ms. Garcia became intimately familiar with Post-Conviction Relief and the criminal trial process.

​Ms. Garcia earned her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in May 2017. While attending law school, under the advisement of Immigration Clinic Director, Deborah Gonzalez, Esq. In addition, Ms. Garcia took part in the NY Pro Bono Scholars Program where she completed her graduation requirements a semester early in December of 2016 and practiced immigration law pro bono at The Door in New York City from February 2017 until graduation in May 2017.
